In the Dark of the Night, You are Faithful

Psalm 127:4
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.

Today was estimated to have been the due date of our precious Heaven-baby we named Arrow. For reasons only the Lord knows, we only had a handful of short weeks with this sweet life before Jesus knew it would be better for our baby to be with him.

During the season of my miscarriage, a good friend of mine reminded me of Psalm 127, which says how children are a gift from the Lord, like arrows in the hands of their parents. We know our Arrow is in the presence of the Father, and we continue to pray for Him to give us a quiver full in His timing.

There have been days of intense pain mixed with days of strength and peace that have only been from the Lord. I know that I can’t live in the land of “what ifs and could have beens,”  but I do wonder from time to time what her {mother’s intuition?} favorite color or food would have been, if she would have looked more like me or her handsome daddy. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her. I thank the Lord for her life and that she’s where we long to be. I’m thankful that Jesus has been so good and steadfast and faithful during such an unexpected, uncertain season. I’m thankful that we’ve had family and friends to support us and pray for us. Most of all, I’m thankful for life eternal that’s guaranteed in the work and person of Jesus Christ, and that he has plans and purposes for my life that he intends to accomplish. My prayer is that He uses this part of our story for His glory and our good.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23:4‬
