Every year when December rolls around, hundreds of volunteers at Long Hollow (students, men & women) join together as the body of Christ to serve the single moms in our church and community! This kind of Acts 2:42-47 servant-hood glorifies Christ in every way! Just like our bodies have 206 bones, 62,000 miles of blood vessels (crazy, I know!!), 10 toes & 10 fingers & our hearts pump about 100,000 times per day for us to survive; the Gift has many working parts that require many volunteers to happen!
Here are a few volunteer areas needed you can register to help in:
- Registration: Skills needed to help– a huge smile & a welcoming spirit
- Clothes Closet: Skills needed to help– a passion for fashion & a love for helping women pick out cute clothing!
- Greeter: Skills needed to help– a kind, welcoming heart, a big smile, a warm handshake & hug!
- Professional Hair Stylist: Skills needed to help– a hair styling license, a love for cutting women’s hair and encouraging them!
- Massage Therapist: Skills needed to help– strong hands, a servants heart & a smile!
- Childcare: Skills needed to help– an excited, lively spirit!
- Table hostess: Skills needed to help– welcoming, encouraging, a people person, passionate about sharing Jesus with others!
- Kitchen help: Skills needed to help– a good pair of walking shoes (will be walking a lot!), a get-it-done kind of attitude!
Basically, if you have a passion to serve and show people the love of Jesus– we need YOU! Click here to register as a volunteer!
Other areas we need help in include:
- Cooking a delicious meal, side dish or dessert for the pot luck lunch!
- Clothing for the Clothes Closet– washed, pressed & hung on hangers (drop off at church offices or at your campuses)
- Nail polish & nail supplies (new or barely used)
- Diapers (any size)
- $25 gift cards to Walmart or Kroger (given to each single mom who attends)
Freely we’ve received, freely let’s give. Praying God’s blessing over you today and that you seek Him with all of your heart, your passions, your gifts, your strength, and your thoughts! All is from Him and for Him!
Your Sister in Christ,
Gretchen
