I’d be curious to know, how many of you reading this blog like change? At the beginning of this year, I asked God to give me a word for 2013. The word I clearly received was “change”! I knew this year would be a journey of the unexpected and so far it’s proven to be true!
Many of you read Gretchen’s post about the move she and Greg are making to Knoxville. Just as she said, I too feel that “bittersweet” is a great word to describe my feelings. I’m grateful for the year and a half the Lord allowed Gretchen to partner with us in ministry. Her love for Jesus and people are contagious. God used her in a great way in this ministry. Although sad to see her go, I am extremely excited about the new adventure that awaits them at Shoreline in Knoxville with our dear friends Jason and Carrie Hayes.
I am thrilled to introduce Megan Pfhal, my new assistant, who will be joining our team this week. Megan and her husband Grady will be moving from the Atlanta area where she served on staff at Northstar Church as Director of Student Life.
Megan attended Georgia State University and received a degree in Psychology/Pre-Med. She is currently working on a Masters of Theology in Religion online from Liberty University.
When describing herself on Facebook Megan says, “I absolutely LOVE life! Every single day is a gift and a chance to learn, grow, love, and serve. When God grabbed ahold of my heart, everything else fell by the wayside. He alone allows us to experience the beauty of this world and our true purpose, despite our circumstances and the stress around us.”
I am excited about Megan joining us as we move into the future of Women’s Ministry at Long Hollow! Please help me welcome her by writing a note or stopping by to say “Hello”!
Although life is continually changing, I’m thankful for the one thing that remains the same: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Heb 13:8
Exciting days ahead!
