“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
~John 1:14
Have you ever experienced that odd feeling that comes the day after Christmas? There’s been so much planning, shopping and hustle and bustle up until that anointed day that the day after can sometimes seem…sad or plain. What is so incredible about this special day, December 26th, is that even as we take down the Christmas tree, possibly return gifts or travel somewhere, JESUS IS STILL ALIVE. When our focus get’s shifted to presents and busyness and family, we get disappointed when it is all over. But when we our eyes are set on Jesus, we see this day as the same as yesterday. We still serve the same God who created the universe! We still serve the same God who sent His only Son to the earth to become fully human, be born of a virgin in a manger in Bethlehem, and be our Savior by sacrificing His holy life to die on a cross.
Jon Bloom, blogger on Desiring God, said “The Christmas story is the wildest story in the history of the world. So don’t let Christmas merely be quaint–for you or for those you know and love. Let it make you quake.”
In every way, enjoy this day! Reflect on the most precious gift of all that allows you to even breathe and have joy. The joy of Jesus is indestructible and undeniable if you know Him. Delight yourself in your incredible Savior on this special day! For it is by His grace that we even get to experience it!
Humbled by the Father’s Love,
